Soma Steel International was founded in 1999 by Jesus de la Garza. They operate in the steel sales and services industry, in partnership with TATA Steel. We are very pleased to introduce them as the newest member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Mexico.
Soma was created to provide a concierge service, facilitating long-term relationships between TATA Steel and their customers in Mexico. TATA Steel is one of Europe’s largest steel producers, with integrated steelmaking sites in the UK and the Netherlands. The European operations are a subsidiary of the Tata Steel Group, one of the world’s largest steel producers. They serve a wide range of markets worldwide, including automotive, engineering, construction and industrial packaging. Soma Steel is proud to play a part in protecting and enhancing TATA’s reputation for sustainable business success combined with corporate citizenship.
Through TATA, Soma is able to offer a wide range of reliable and market-proven steel products, including HSLA steel and ultra high-strength steel. In their words, they ‘have a duality in roles, before the customers [they] are the voice of the production mills, before the mills [they] are the voice of the customer, being congruent with [their] imperatives in both cases’.
They work in partnership with businesses to deliver steel products that will give their clients the advantage, whether in enhancing produce performance, improving efficiency, helping to access new markets or creating more sustainable solutions. Through collaboration and commitment to the future, Soma aims for their products and services to make a difference to businesses.
